Ashley Macomber

Los Angeles based artist Ashley Macomber creates what could be described as exquisitely rendered animals. Her works have been said to resemble the campy American Indian paintings that can sometimes be found on t-shirts in truck stop gift shops. Upon deeper consultation however, they provide a strong commentary on our relationships to each other, nature and ourselves. Her recent works have begun to explore themes of abstraction and color. She has exhibited her work at New Image Art in Los Angeles, Kavi Gupta Gallery in Chicago and Marianne Boesky Gallery in New York. Additionally, her work has been featured on the covers of Flaunt and Loyal magazines.
