Terry Richardson
Terry Richardson was born in 1965 and spent his adolescence in Hollywood, California skateboarding and playing in various punk bands. In 1992 he relocated to New York City where he began documenting the East Village art, fashion and music scenes of the time. The photographs explore an unfettered sexuality, which have sparked controversy and inspired a slate of imitators. Since then he has risen to become one of the most successful photographers working today. Richardson’s photographs are an obsessive exploration of erotic themes that one might call “polysexual.” Terry Richardson’s work has appeared in international magazines such as British, American and French Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, The Face, i-D, Dazed and Confused, Purple and more. In recent years, he has exhibited his work worldwide including exhibitions in New York (Alleged Galleries/Deitch Projects), London (Shine Gallery), and Berlin (Kunstwerk).
